Discovery of Gobekli Tepe, a 12,000-year-old archeological site in Southeast Turkey, has changed our understanding of evolution of civilization and faith forever. Gobekli Tepe is the world's first known sanctuary and ancient cult center, predating Stonehenge by 6,000 years and pyramids by 7,000 years. When these large megaliths (20 ft high, weights 16 tons) were erected, humans still lived as hunter-gatherers. They did not yet discover the wheel, pottery or agriculture. How and why did they build these structures? What does the human features, images of wild animals and mysterious symbols mean? What shamanic rituals did they perform here? How do the same symbols appear in other parts of the world? Why did they bury these structures and leave? The presentations will discuss this breakthrough discovery and mysticism of its symbols.
