Brazilian Samba is one of the most popular dances in the world! It is danced in celebration of carnaval in Rio De Janeiro among other areas in Brazil. It was introduced by enslaved Africans on arrival to Brazil and serves as a historic and cultural identity of many Brazilians. It started as a solo dance and has evolved into many different types of Samba. Samba dance has a fast rhythm and is full of energy, which is now considered an icon of national pride.
