Shadow work is a technique of self-exploration that allows us to open a line of communication between our conscious self and our unconscious self. In shadow work, we seek to discover those parts of ourselves that are hidden or repressed and that exist outside of our awareness. Discovering and embracing those hidden aspects within, both the good and the not-so-good, gives us a chance to heal and to function with more awareness.
